Transportation Compliance Coordinator

With a focus on Safety and Managing vehicle compliance, Carmacks Enterprises is seeking a Transportation Compliance Coordinator . As a key member of the Safety and Transportation Teams , the TCC will report to the Corporate Safety Manager and assume a strategic role in ensuring that employees comply with all legislative and regulatory laws for any and all jurisdictions in which Carmacks operates. He/she promotes positive safety attitudes and safe work practices throughout the organization. Responsibilities: •Ensure compliance with all regulations and record keeping concerning all transportation matters such as National Safety Code, Carrier Profile, etc. •Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the transportation operations within the organization •Set operations policies and standards, and ensure compliance with transport regulations •Enforce, perform, assist in and coordinate Corporate Safety Training, relating to driver and compliance training such as Load Securement-Trip Inspections-Log Books •Monitor, counsel and document driver violations of any provincial, federal, or local laws or company policies or regulations •Conduct driver evaluations for all classes of license •Ensure new hires are properly trained in their daily duties to include all required paperwork related to transportation •Conduct investigations and perform collision evaluations, to determine causes of transportation accidents and to improve safety procedures •Direct investigations to verify and resolve customer complaints •Participate in and facilitate transportation audits/inspections and prepare any required reports •Ensure driver files are up-to date and maintained according to regulations •Provide written advice and/ or instruction on various transportation related topics to different levels of staff in the organization •Establish and maintain strong working relationships with key individuals in the parent organization as well as Carmacks operating groups •Coordination of audit activities, investigate audit findings and implement recommendations as appropriate Qualifications: •Minimum 3 years’ experience in a transportation compliance/safety role •Field Level Safety Experience or NCSO designation considered an asset •Excellent communication skills with a willingness to tach and share knowledge •Valid Class 1 license with a clean drivers abstract •A combination of education and experience will be considered This is a full time position located out of our Nisku office.
