PROJECT DESCRIPTION

 The intention, in addition to improve infrastructure, of the Stony Plain Downtown Redevelopment Project is to build upon the existing small-town feel in historic downtown for the residents, businesses, and visitors. 

This project includes the replacement of existing sanitary mains and services, upsizing the existing water main, installing a new storm system that utilizes the rain water to water the newly planted trees through a soil cell system, decorative light poles and bollards, planters with an ambient lighting under the seated bench, coloured stamped concrete with sandblasted bands. 

This project had its challenges; torrential rain, early snowfall/freezing conditions and unforeseen design changes. The contract required 100% pedestrian access to all businesses at all times, requiring the review of and modification to traffic and business accommodations on a daily basis. 

This project is to be completed by July 1, 2019, under the estimated budget.
