Suncor Project

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Suncor Energy’s Non-Process Building Group was first out of the gate in an effort to restart construction on the Voyageur Upgrader Project. A strategic effort by Suncor Energy to partnership with Total E&P Canada allowed the project to resume which had been in safe mode since 2008.

Carmacks Industrial has been contracted to execute the earthworks scope for South Lodge, North Lodge and Central Lodge sites. The activities include site clearing, muskeg removal, clay borrow for pad and road construction, site drainage, and firewater pond construction. Also included in the scope of work is the supply and installation of underground piping systems including firewater, potable water and sanitary sewer.

The three lodges will serve as temporary facilities to accommodate the labour force required for the Voyageur Upgrader Project.
