TRAFFIC UPDATES

UPDATED DECEMBER 2, 2020:

WHITEMUD INTERCHANGE STRUCTURE LOCATION:

Eastbound WMD: Regular detour in place. (no additional traffic restrictions)

Westbound WMD: Regular detour in place. (no additional traffic restrictions)

SB AHD: Work Activity:  Regular TAS Plan in place. (no additional traffic restrictions)

NB AHD: Work Activity:  Regular TAS Plan  in place. (no additional traffic restrictions)

*NOTE: Construction work occurring at median pier location on Whitemud Drive. Will be an active construction site and all signs need to be active 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM (starting November 30th)  Will update for Lane closures when required.

WEDGEWOOD CREEK STRUCTURE LOCATION:

Southbound AHD:

  • Work Activity: Regular Transition Shift   //   Girder Work
  • Traffic Impact: Regular TAS Transition in Place   //   Single Lane Traffic (day time lane closure)  Speed Reduced to 60 km/hr
  • Duration: December 4th – December 11th   //    December 5th  (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

Northbound AHD:

  • Work Activity Regular Transition Shift   //   Girder Work
  • Traffic Impact: Regular TAS Transition in Place   //   Single Lane Traffic (day time lane closure)  Speed Reduced to 60 km/hr
  • Duration: December 4th – December 11th   //    December 5th  (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

NORTH SASKATCHEWAN RIVER STRUCTURE LOCATION:

Southbound AHD:

  • Work Activity: Substructure work/preparation  —  Trucks entering and exiting from both ends of bridge
  • Traffic Impact:  Trucks turning from right hand lane, speed will be reduced to 60km/hr through work zone for SB(EB) traffic. Will require assistance possible to guide vehicles to maintain speed and give buffer for trucks turning into site during OFF PEAK HOURS between 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Speed reduction ONLY during the daytime work hours [7:00 AM to 5:00PM] Speed will be posted back to 80km/hr.
  • Duration: December 7th – December 11th –  speed reductions implemented   

Northbound AHD:

  • Work Activity:   Substructure work/preparation — Trucks entering and exiting from both ends of bridge
  • Traffic Impact:  Trucks turning from right hand lane, speed will be reduced to 60km/hr through work zone for NB(WB) traffic. Will require assistance possible to guide vehicles to maintain speed and give buffer for trucks turning into site during OFF PEAK HOURS between 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Speed reduction ONLY during the daytime work hours [7:00 AM to 5:00PM] Speed will be posted back to 80km/hr.
  • Duration: December 7th – December 11th –  speed reductions implemented     

ONGOING:  The following are the impacts to traffic on Whitemud Drive at the Anthony Henday Interchange:

Continuous:

  • Speed reduction to 60 KPH on Whitemud at this location
  • Two lane jog detour
  • Two travel lanes maintained in both directions through the work zone
  • Lane width reduction to 3.5m
