TRAFFIC UPDATES

UPDATED OCTOBER 23, 2020:

WHITEMUD INTERCHANGE STRUCTURE LOCATION:

Eastbound WMD: Regular detour in place. (no additional traffic restrictions)

Westbound WMD: Regular detour in place. (no additional traffic restrictions)

SB AHD: Work Activity:  Regular TAS Plan in place. (no additional traffic restrictions)

NB AHD: Work Activity:  Regular TAS Plan  in place. (no additional traffic restrictions)

 

WEDGEWOOD CREEK STRUCTURE LOCATION:

Southbound AHD:

Regular transition TAS Plan in place

Northbound AHD:

  • Work Activity: Site access North of Bridge
  • Traffic Impact: Trucks entering through access point 3 (North side of bridge structure) with pilot trucks to guide in and out of access during OFF-PEAK Hours (9:00AM – 3:30PM) speed reduction 80kph. Transition TAS Plan in place
  • Duration: October 19th – October 23rd

 

NORTH SASKATCHEWAN RIVER STRUCTURE LOCATION:

Southbound AHD:

  • Work Activity: Substructure work/preparation  —  Trucks entering and exiting from both ends of bridge  //  Rebar delivery Approach side of Bridge
  • Traffic Impact:  Trucks turning from right hand lane, speed will be reduced to 60km/hr through work zone for SB(EB) traffic. Will require assistance possible to guide vehicles to maintain speed and give buffer for trucks turning into site during OFF PEAK HOURS between 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Speed reduction ONLY during the daytime work hours [7:00 AM to 3:30PM] Speed will be posted back to 80km/hr.
  • Duration: October 19th – October 23rd  – speed reductions implemented  //   October 19th  9:00 AM – 11:00 AM

 Northbound AHD:

  • Work Activity:   Substructure work/preparation   — Trucks entering and exiting from both ends of bridge  //    Rebar delivery exiting end of Bridge
  • Traffic Impact:  Trucks turning from right hand lane, speed will be reduced to 60km/hr through work zone for NB(WB) traffic. Will require assistance possible to guide vehicles to maintain speed and give buffer for trucks turning into site during OFF PEAK HOURS between 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Speed reduction ONLY during the daytime work hours [7:00 AM to 3:30PM] Speed will be posted back to 80km/hr.
  • Duration: October 19th – October 23rd  – speed reductions implemented  //   October 19th  9:00 AM – 11:00 AM

 

Steel Barriers Removal South West – Anthony Henday

Carmacks will remove the Steel Barriers from ACP Sections #34 & #35, on the South Bound Lane of the Henday, from Callingwood Interchange going south to Lessard Road Interchange, as those sections are completed.

We will also remove the steel Barriers form Section #21 to 24 of the Henday (North Bound Lane), since the PCCP widening is completed as well, from 111St Interchange going north to the Whitemud Creek Bridge.

Traffic Impact:

Night Time Lane Closure :

  • (1) Lane closure and speed reduction to 60 km/h over 1.5 km, on the Anthony Henday South Bound Lane from the Whitemud Interchange Area to the Callingwood Interchange (Stat. 14+726 to 16+228)

Lane Restriction starting from 20:00pm to 6:00am,i.e off peak hour, Speed will be reduced on the single lane (right-hand lane is being closed).

  • (2) Lane closure and speed reduction to 60 km/h over 1 km, on the Anthony Henday North Bound Lane from the 111St Interchange Area to 119St (Stat. 2+168 to 3+168)

Lane Restriction starting from 23:00pm to 6:00am,i.e off peak hour, Speed will be reduced on the single lane (right-hand lane is being closed).

  • (3) Lane closure and speed reduction to 60 km/h over 2.3 km, on the Anthony Henday North Bound Lane from the 119St to the Whitemud Creek Bridge (Stat. 3+168 to 5+451)

Lane Restriction starting from 20:00pm to 6:00am,i.e off peak hour, Speed will be reduced on the single lane (right-hand lane is being closed).

Duration:

Steel Barriers removal scheduled for October 23rd at night time, for 2 night

  • Lane Closure # (1) & (2) scheduled for the 23rd of October
  • Lane Closure # (3) scheduled for the 24th of October

 

ONGOING:  The following are the impacts to traffic on Whitemud Drive at the Anthony Henday Interchange:

Continuous:

  • Speed reduction to 60 KPH on Whitemud at this location
  • Two lane jog detour
  • Two travel lanes maintained in both directions through the work zone
  • Lane width reduction to 3.5m
